He gripped the phone so hard his knuckles were white. His jaw was clenched, his temples pounding. He fought the urge to shout, to unleash the torrent of words threatening to erupt.

He slammed the phone back onto the receiver, the loud crack echoing in the otherwise silent house. The injustice of the situation felt like a physical blow. He wasn't going to let this go.
