Gemotions

He stared at the card, the cheerful imagery clashing with the turmoil churning inside him. It was unsigned, impersonal. He tossed it onto the kitchen counter, a small gesture of defiance. His hands trembled. The house felt too small, too confining.

He went to the back door and jerked it open, letting the cold air rush in. The wind whipped around him, tugging at his clothes. He wanted to scream, to release the pressure building inside his chest. He took a deep breath, trying to calm the raging storm within. He needed an escape.
