The new address was a symbol of his humiliation. He'd been forced to sell his previous home after his business venture went south. Now, renting, he was at the mercy of a landlord. He hated every detail of this place, from the low ceilings to the stained carpets. A tightness gripped his chest.

He glared at the peeling paint. He'd been looking for a reason to break something, to let out the pressure that was building inside.
