The phone vibrated in Leo's pocket, a notification from his sister. "Have you seen this? 'The Amazing Apple Pie' from that new pie shop!" His pulse quickened. He hadn't seen it, but he knew. That apple pie was his, a creation he had perfected over years of trial and error.

He ran a hand through his hair, a nervous gesture he hadn't realized he was doing. The pie shop, "Sweet Surrender," had opened just weeks ago, and now, he was seeing his work being sold without any credit. He had devoted countless hours, perfecting the crust, balancing the sweetness, adding the secret spice blend his grandmother had always used.

He stared out the window, the image of that pie, being given away under another name, burned into his memory. He grabbed his keys and slammed the door behind him.
