They'd loved his concept, his self-cleaning dog kennel, right up until the point they realized someone had already patented something similar. He wanted to shout, to rail against the unfairness, but he only managed a curt nod and a stiff "Thank you for your time." He fumbled for his keys, his hands clumsy as he left the building, the polished glass a cold reminder of his loss.
