Gemotions

He stared at the blank screen, the cursor blinking mockingly. He'd been working on a fan fiction piece, a tribute to the very author he now despised. The irony was a bitter pill to swallow. He had loved this man's work, devoured every book, memorized passages. Now, it all felt tainted.

He abruptly closed his laptop, unable to look at it any longer. He wandered into the kitchen and slammed the fridge door open, staring at its contents without seeing. He grabbed a beer, popped the top, and chugged it down in one go. The cold liquid did nothing to quench the fire inside him.

He felt the sudden urge to break something, anything.
