He felt a deep, cold fury settle in his gut, a slow burn that threatened to consume him. John paced his living room. His daughter, Olivia, had a secret. A large one. He stopped pacing and picked up a heavy book from the coffee table, flipping through the pages.

He wanted to throw the book, to destroy something. He wanted to shout. He wanted to demand answers. He set the book down with a thud.
