He felt a sudden, sharp jolt in his gut. Miss Rodriguez, his choir teacher, had followed him. He wasn't sure what was worse: the fact that she was watching, or that he hadn’t even realized she was a person who *would*. He felt like a fish trapped in a tank.

He stared at the notification, his fingers itching to delete the app. He'd posted a video of himself singing a different song, a song he loved, not the classical pieces she favored. He’d dared to deviate. Now, she was there.

The next choir rehearsal was torture. He sang flat, his voice cracking on the high notes. Her corrections felt targeted, her gaze felt sharp. He wanted to disappear, to vanish into the notes he couldn't hit.
