The door slammed with a resounding crash, shaking the framed photographs on the hallway wall. He paced, each footfall a heavy thud against the hardwood floor. His fists were clenched, muscles bulging. The air in the apartment felt thick, suffocating. He’d just found out. John was moving to New York. The thought ignited a fire in his chest that threatened to consume him.
