He slammed the letter against the wall, the paper momentarily clinging before fluttering to the floor. The contents confirmed his suspicions, the suspicions that had been gnawing at him for weeks. His father, the man who had always presented himself as the picture of integrity, had fathered another child.

He paced his apartment, the uneven floorboards creaking under his weight. He could feel a pressure building in his head, a headache of monumental proportions. He grabbed a glass from the cupboard and hurled it at the wall.

He needed to escape the confining walls, to break free from the suffocating feeling.
