Gemotions

The manuscript was tucked away in a drawer, labeled "Project Phoenix." He'd found it while looking for a pen. The story was about their marriage, but it was twisted and turned.

His palms were starting to sweat. He reread a paragraph about a fight they'd had last year, the words feeling like a physical assault. She made him seem cruel, selfish, and insensitive. He started walking. He tried to think, but his thoughts wouldn't coalesce.

He grabbed his keys and jacket. The apartment suddenly seemed claustrophobic. He walked out the front door, slamming it behind him. He went for a walk. The cool air didn’t help.
