Gemotions

The cramped space amplified every sound, every movement. The bell above the door chimed as she entered, and the noise made her jump. She clutched her handbag tightly, the leather cold against her palm. She felt like she might shatter if she got too close to anyone.

Her chest felt tight. She hated this. She hated the feeling of not being in control. She forced herself to walk forward, to look at the cases.

She noticed her reflection in the glass – her face was pale, and her eyes were wide. She hadn’t realized how noticeable it must be. She focused on her breathing, trying to make it slow and regular. This was all for her brother, it had to be worth it.
