The coffee shop was too bright, too cheerful. Olivia hated it. She’d been enjoying a rare day off when she saw Mark talking and laughing with a woman. Mark, who had told her he was busy with work. The woman was wearing Olivia's favourite shade of lipstick.

Olivia's fingers started to tremble. Her palms grew clammy. She felt a terrible lurch in her stomach, like she was on a rollercoaster and falling. She felt trapped in a small space, unable to breathe.

She wanted to disappear, to vanish. Instead, she sat frozen in her seat, watching the scene unfold, her world crumbling around her, unable to move.
