Gemotions

He stared at the blank screen, the cursor blinking like a taunt. The story he was supposed to be writing about his future had stalled. The scholarship was gone, his future up in the air. His hands were damp, and he wiped them on his jeans, leaving dark patches. He took a few deep breaths, but they offered no solace.

He got up from his chair, a sudden burst of energy coursing through him. He walked over to the window, staring out at the campus, at the students laughing, studying, living their lives. He felt a burning sensation in his throat, a need to scream, to lash out. The world felt suddenly hostile, indifferent to his plight.
