The basement air was thick with dust and memories. "Go on a road trip." Her eyes darted around the room, as though searching for an escape. The thought of being in a car, alone for hours, caused a cold sweat to break out.

She read on. "Learn to cook a new dish every month." Her stomach clenched. She'd barely managed to microwave meals for herself since her father's death. It sounded like an awful chore.

She began to pace, the floorboards groaning under her feet. "Make amends with Uncle Joe." A wave of dizziness washed over her. She gripped the edge of the workbench. Her breath came in short, shallow gasps.
