The old, yellowed paper felt fragile between her fingers. "Volunteer at an animal shelter." She bit the inside of her cheek. The thought of interacting with strangers, of being surrounded by the noise and chaos, made her feel faint.

The next item, "Learn to code," seemed like a betrayal of everything she knew. She felt a growing sense of panic. Her hands were starting to feel numb.

Her apartment suddenly felt very small. "Find love." The words spun in front of her eyes. She wanted to run. She stared out the window, a dull ache beginning in her chest.
