Gemotions

The whine of the circular saw sliced through the afternoon heat. David, working from home, found his focus completely shattered. He kept pacing his apartment, the thin walls offering little buffer against the noise and the vibrant energy emanating from next door. His hands felt restless, his skin prickling.

He should be reviewing spreadsheets, but instead, his gaze kept drifting towards the window. He imagined the dust motes dancing in the sunlight, the sweat beading on the contractor’s forehead. A wave of heat washed over him. He felt a desperate need to be outside, to feel the sun on his skin, to... to *something*.

He ran a hand through his hair, the strands catching on his fingertips. A low groan escaped him. He finally slammed his laptop shut, abandoning his work.
