Gemotions

The afternoon sun cast long shadows across the room. Sam paced, his leg bouncing erratically. He'd found the journal, opened to a page detailing his own fantasies. He felt a weird, unsettling mix of emotions that he couldn't quite name, a strange lightness in his chest. His roommate, Alex, had been unusually withdrawn since the discovery.

He picked at a loose thread on his jeans, suddenly hyper-aware of his own body. He found himself pulling the collar of his t-shirt away from his neck. Each movement, each breath, was magnified.

“Alex,” Sam called, his voice rough. “Can we… can we talk?” He stood still, waiting for a response, his insides doing a strange dance.
