Her favorite author, the man whose writing had inspired her, whose words had offered her solace, was a…thief. She felt a surge of energy course through her. She felt like she could run a marathon. Her palms were clammy, and her chest felt tight.

She clicked through the links, the evidence mounting with each click. The similarities were undeniable. A wave of nausea swept over her, but it quickly subsided, replaced by a strange, almost exhilarating feeling. Her breathing quickened. She felt a need to move, to be in motion. She stood up abruptly and started pacing.

She reached for a nearby object, a small, decorative ceramic cat. She held it tightly, feeling the smooth cool surface against her skin. Her grip tightened. She felt a sudden, almost desperate urge to smash it against the wall, but she stopped herself. The feeling inside her was too intense, a pressure building.
