The email was short, brutal. The accusations, the evidence… He felt a sudden, explosive heat in his core. His breath came in ragged gasps. He wanted to rip the computer from its moorings. He wanted to go outside and scream at the top of his lungs. He wanted to destroy something.

He stumbled to his feet, his legs unsteady. He paced the length of his small living room, unable to find a moment's peace. He felt a powerful pressure building inside him, a need for release. His hands clenched and unclenched. He ran his fingers through his hair, again and again.

He saw the picture of Finch on his bookshelf. The man’s smiling face. His jaw tightened. He wanted to knock it off its shelf and stomp on it. He wanted to…. The feeling grew, a knot of pure, untamed energy.
