He was in the middle of class when the notification popped up. Ms. Ramirez, his art teacher. Following. He felt a jolt, a strange pull in his gut. His leg started bouncing uncontrollably.

He tried to focus on the lesson, sketching a still life of a pear. But every time he looked at his drawing, he saw her, the way the light caught in her dark hair. He could feel heat rise.

He felt the fabric of his shirt stick to his skin. He had to get out of there. He needed air. He put his head down, hoping the feeling would pass, but it only amplified.
