Gemotions

He sat in the dimly lit movie theater, popcorn forgotten, the opening credits still rolling on the screen. He was mid-conversation with a friend, describing his evening plans. He reached for his phone and began to type: "Can't wait to see you later. You're going to love it." He meant to send it to his girlfriend. But, he sent it to his best friend's mother, Mrs. Gable.

He felt a sudden, sharp sting in his gut. His breath hitched. He closed his eyes, his mind racing. He imagined Mrs. Gable, a sweet, grandmotherly type, reading the message. He felt a weird, unfamiliar sensation in his lower abdomen. He needed to get out of there. He stood abruptly, knocking over his drink, and stumbled out of the theater, the cool air doing nothing to calm his racing thoughts.
