Gemotions

She was sprawled on the couch, the glow of the television reflecting in her eyes, a glass of wine sitting precariously on the coffee table. She had been texting a friend about her fantasy for the night. She composed a message: "I'm on fire. Come over, now." She meant to send the message to her lover. Instead it was sent to her father.

Her eyes widened in horror. Her face flushed, and she felt a tremor pass through her. She felt like she could barely breathe. The wine glass seemed to mock her with its innocence. She thought of her father, a stern man, but her mind drifted on to the implications of the message. She jumped up from the couch and started pacing, her hands clasped tightly in front of her.
