It was the way Jessica's eyes lit up when she said "Camp Firefly," that did it. Ethan's stomach twisted. He felt a sudden, powerful longing to be closer, to hear her voice just a little bit more.

He remembered the late-night hikes, the whispers, the unspoken electricity in the air. He found himself imagining her as a teenager, her long hair, her summer dress. A heat spread through him, a feeling he couldn’t name, a wanting he couldn’t ignore. He felt a sudden, urgent need to remove himself from the conversation before he did something foolish.

"Wow," he stammered, backing away. He needed air. He needed… something.
“Small world.”
