Gemotions

The poplar went down with a shudder that seemed to shake the earth. He felt… vibrant. A fire seemed to ignite in his core. He had to be close. He immediately found himself straightening his shirt, smoothing down his hair, and then walked directly to the front door.

He felt an impulse to walk over there, to observe. To speak. He quickly moved toward the fallen tree. He was drawn to the exposed roots, the raw wood, the way the tree had ripped the earth open.

He took a deep breath, and he felt his breath leave him. His eyes scanned the tree; his mind was racing. He was ready to help.
