Gemotions

The words on the screen blurred, the listing agent's descriptions of "charm" and "potential" grating on his nerves. He felt a peculiar tightness in his throat, making it difficult to swallow. The air in his apartment suddenly felt stifling, the walls closing in. He felt a restless energy, something akin to hunger, but for what, he couldn’t say.

He ran a hand over his face, trying to clear his head, but the image of the house, bathed in golden afternoon light, remained etched on his mind. His breath quickened, shallow and uneven. He imagined the feel of the doorknob, the smell of freshly cut grass, the sound of the wind chimes on the porch. The thought made him… restless.

He grabbed his keys, without conscious thought. He had to go. He didn’t know where, or why, but the need to move was overwhelming. He just needed to *do* something.
