The waiting room was sterile, all muted blues and grays. Sarah traced patterns on her clammy palms, her leg bouncing a frantic rhythm against the plush chair. This was ridiculous. Confronting her childhood tormentor, now a… therapist? The idea was both terrifying and… thrilling. A tiny heat began to bloom in her chest, spreading slowly, making her breathing shallow. She needed to take a deep breath, but the air felt too thick.

A soft voice called her name. “Sarah Miller?” It was him. Even the way he said her name sent a shiver down her spine.

He gestured towards his office. "Please, come in."

His eyes, the same piercing blue, held a different kind of intensity now. He wasn’t smirking. He was… studying her. Her cheeks flushed as she followed him.
