"Visit the Northern Lights." Liam traced the elegant script with his index finger. His mother. It was written in a violet ink that reminded him of her favorite lipstick. A tingling sensation spread from his core, a confusing mix of grief and something else, something electrifying.

He sat on the floor, the list spread out before him, the scent of lavender from the old parchment filling his senses. He glanced around the room, feeling as if the walls were closing in, yet he was glued to the spot.

He imagined her, standing under the swirling green and purple lights, her face upturned, laughing. A rush of warmth hit him, and he instinctively loosened his tie. He wanted to go where she had gone, to feel what she had felt.
