He’d been feeling off all day. Restless. His usual calm demeanor was shattered. The incessant humming of the fluorescent lights in the clinic seemed to grate on his very bones. When the doctor finally called his name, he almost jumped.

The doctor, a kind-faced woman with tired eyes, explained the diagnosis, the implications. Everything was the same. A mirroring of his own experiences. He nodded slowly, attempting to appear composed, but inside, a wildfire was raging.

"It's…rare," she said, her voice barely audible. He looked up, and his gaze met a pair of emerald green eyes. A spark, a sudden rush, flooded his system. He instinctively shifted in his chair. He felt like he wanted to jump up and run.
