The soft glow of the bedside lamp illuminated the paper. Emily read each entry, her heart rate quickening with every line. *Kiss under the Eiffel Tower*. *Go skydiving*. *Sleep under the stars*. She bit her lip, a flush rising on her cheeks. She was starting to feel feverish, a deep ache in her core.

She imagined him, her boyfriend, Alex, a strong, vibrant man, experiencing all these things. She pictured his face lit with joy, his eyes sparkling with adventure. The thought of him, alone, exploring the world filled her with a potent longing.
