Gemotions

The office felt suffocating. Mark usually thrived on the energy, the constant hum of computers and the rapid-fire conversations. Today, however, the air was thick with judgment, or at least, that's how it felt. He knew everyone had read the article. He tried to ignore the sideways glances, the hushed whispers that he was certain were about him.

He slammed his computer shut, his hands clenched into fists. He couldn't face another day of pretending. He needed air, something to clear his head. He grabbed his coat and fled, the fluorescent lights of the office stinging his eyes. The city air felt cold, but liberating.
