Gemotions

It happened while he was at work. The request, "From: Kevin Bradley." His hands started to sweat. He had tried so hard to build himself up, to be confident. He felt all the old wounds being reopened.

He felt the familiar knot in his stomach. He tried to focus on his work, but his mind kept drifting back to the playground. He was there again, the victim of his taunts. His breath got caught in his throat.

He had to get out of the office. He went to the restroom and splashed cold water on his face, trying to compose himself. The feeling of vulnerability was crushing. He skipped lunch, and went home early.
