He had always considered himself a good person. Across the country. But now he wasn't so sure. He felt a deep, gnawing unease when he heard the news.

He found himself snapping at his roommate, picking fights over insignificant things. He was irritable, short-tempered, and impossible to be around. He hated himself for it, but he couldn't stop.

He even considered sabotaging the move, a fleeting, terrible thought that sent a shiver down his spine. He knew he was being selfish, but the thought of his friend leaving filled him with a sense of dread.
