He stared at the screen, unable to process what he was seeing. Years of tireless work, of late nights and early mornings, had culminated in this, his first book review, and it was attributed to someone else. He felt a cold dread creep into his bones, and a lump formed in his throat.

He leaned back in his chair, his body tense. He started to sweat, even though the office was quite cool. He felt a sudden, inexplicable urge to flee the building, to escape this nightmare. He couldn't articulate any single word, but the sensation of betrayal was profound.
