The laptop screen practically burned a hole in Sarah's retinas. She’d been idly scrolling through her daughter Emily’s YouTube history, hoping to find a hint of what music she liked. Instead, she'd stumbled upon it. An account, a profile picture of a girl with fiery red hair and a piercing gaze. Emily’s name wasn't there.

Her breath hitched. A tremor ran through her, making her fingers fumble with the mouse. Curiosity, a powerful and unwelcome guest, pulled her forward. She clicked the profile.

“Who… who is this?” The words escaped her lips in a hushed whisper. The bio was vague, a few generic quotes about chasing dreams and embracing change. The pictures, however, told a different story. They were edgy, stylish, and nothing like the carefully curated, wholesome image Emily presented to the world.
