Gemotions

He walked into the apartment and saw the large, ornate birdcage. Then, he saw the cockatoo, perched on top, its bright yellow crest raised. His jaw dropped. His roommate, Ben, just looked up at him with a wide, innocent grin. He had expressed his loathing of birds countless times.

A strange feeling washed over him, a combination of confusion and outrage. He felt a deep, profound sense of…discombobulation. He’d been completely ignored.

He stammered, his words catching in his throat. He felt lightheaded, as if the ground beneath him was unsteady. He looked from the bird to his roommate and back again, unable to process the situation.

"Isn't he great?" Ben asked, completely unaware of the internal turmoil he had unleashed.
