The elevator music was always the same generic pop. Then, one day, as Elias rode to the tenth floor, it was different. It was his song.

He almost choked. He blinked and glanced around at the other passengers, but they seemed oblivious. The elevator music was a smooth jazz rendition of his song.

He couldn't speak, he was frozen. His hands fidgeted, and he could feel his face burning with a silent flush.

He waited for his floor. He tried to think of what had happened to bring this to pass. He stood there, completely still, until the doors opened and he quickly rushed out.
