The email arrived like a punch to the gut. The words swam before her eyes. It couldn't be. Her heart hammered against her ribs, a frantic drumbeat in her chest. She reread the message, the sentences twisting into something menacing, something designed to humiliate.

Her fingers trembled as she clicked the "Reply" button, the cursor blinking tauntingly. She stared at it, unable to type, her mind a tangled mess of disbelief and fury. She looked over at Kevin's desk and saw his eyes on her. She turned away quickly, wanting to hide.

She bolted upright, her chair scraping across the floor. She needed to escape.
