Gemotions

The whole street was buzzing. People were outside, pointing and chattering. I pushed through the crowd and saw it. The huge pine, which had always seemed impenetrable, was down. Blocking the road.

I felt a strange, detached curiosity, like I was watching a movie. I just continued to stare. I slowly lifted my phone, and took a picture. I had no idea what to do. I felt a powerful mixture of both shock and… fascination.

I looked around at the faces of my neighbors. The shock mirrored my own. No one said a word, just surveyed the scene.
