He had seen his paintings reproduced countless times online, on prints, on mugs. This was different. He was at a convention, wandering through the crowds, when he saw it: a woman, her entire back covered in a sprawling version of his "Forest of Whispers." He froze.

His breath hitched. He forgot to breathe. The trees, rendered with such meticulous care, seemed to sway in an unseen breeze. He felt a dizzying sensation, like the world had shifted on its axis. He stumbled forward, bumping into someone.

"Excuse me," he mumbled, his voice a strained whisper. He couldn't tear his eyes away. It was a perfect translation of his vision. He wanted to touch it, to feel the texture, to run his fingers along the lines.
