Gemotions

“Incredible,” I whispered, leaning against the fence. The house next door was being gutted. Everything was gone, down to the studs. I'd come out to see what the commotion was.

I felt a giddy sensation, like the world was slightly tilted. The audacity of it, the sheer scope of the project, was overwhelming. My mouth hung open, and I couldn't seem to close it.

I couldn’t have imagined this. It was a kind of controlled chaos I'd never experienced before. I found myself thinking, 'Wow.'

The dust swirled around me, a tangible representation of the change happening before my eyes. I was utterly spellbound.
