Gemotions

The old house felt different now. He remembered the arguments, the slamming doors, the teenage angst. Now, with the weight of the outside world pressing down on him, it felt like…shelter. He walked into the kitchen, the scent of fresh-baked bread filling the air. He sat down at the table and smiled.

His mother placed a plate of food in front of him. "Eat up, honey," she said, her voice soft. He looked at her and felt his eyes begin to sting. He couldn't remember the last time he felt so… cared for. He ate in silence, the taste of home warming him from the inside out.
