Sarah’s hands trembled, the news clutched in a crumpled ball. *The Golden Spoon…closing?* Impossible. The dim, familiar glow of the restaurant flashed in her mind – the worn booths, the way the sunlight hit the dust motes dancing in the air. She’d been coming here since she was a little girl, holding her grandfather's hand. Now, the space was shrinking, becoming a memory before her very eyes. She felt a pressure in her chest, like she was trying to swallow a stone.

Her phone slipped from her fingers. It clattered against the hardwood floor. She stared at it, unmoving. The world seemed to tilt ever so slightly.

Her vision blurred. All she could see was the aroma of simmering stew.
