Gemotions

The air crackled with unspoken tension. I saw the journal in his hands, then saw him close it. My body felt suddenly light, as if I could float away. My roommate, David, was sitting on the edge of the bed, his head down.

I’d written of my struggles, my hidden desires, my fears. Now, he knew. I’d thought I would be mortified, ashamed. Instead, a strange sense of… wonder washed over me.

He looked up, and his eyes… they were full of something I couldn't understand. He just shook his head slightly, as if to try and shake off a spell.
