Gemotions

I scrolled through the family tree, my hand trembling. The faces of the people I thought were my family swam before my eyes. The test results revealed that the people who raised me were not my blood relatives. I felt a disconnect, a deep, unsettling feeling of being unmoored.

My breath caught in my throat. I stood and walked to the mirror and looked at my own face. It was as if I was seeing someone else.
