"Cats are pretentious and aloof," Liam had proclaimed, vehemently opposing the idea. But now, he was reduced to a speechless observer, leaning against the doorway. The small, black cat, perched regally on the bookshelf, regarded him with emerald eyes. It was a simple act, the cat's nonchalant survey, but it filled him with a curious kind of elation.
