At the grocery store, checking out, she froze. The elevator music was his song. It was his obscure experimental track, "Chromatic Drift," not even released. He turned to the cashier, dumbfounded.

The cashier, oblivious, just smiled and scanned the items. Amelia felt her mind spinning. The song, transformed into something sterile, something… bland. But it was *his*.

She paid, her movements robotic. She was unable to speak, she couldn’t even look at the cashier. She walked out of the store, the song still echoing in her ears. A strange, unfamiliar wave of something poured over her, leaving her utterly lost for words.
