The notification popped up during a particularly boring biology lecture: "Mr. Harrison started following you." Sarah’s breath caught in her throat. Mr. Harrison, the science teacher with the perpetually furrowed brow? Following *her*?

Her hands trembled as she opened the app. She suddenly felt a pressing need to curate her profile, to delete some less-flattering photos. Had he seen her post about hating photosynthesis? She felt an odd need for him to approve of her.

The remainder of the class felt like an eternity. She kept glancing at Mr. Harrison, searching for some sign, some hint that he knew. When he made eye contact with her, her heart jumped. She looked away, a flush rising on her cheeks, and pretended to take copious notes.
