He'd spent his life collecting antique cameras, each one a testament to a bygone era of photography. The clunk of the shutters, the smell of chemicals, the art of framing a perfect shot – these were his life's passions. His daughter, eight-year-old Lily, had always been curious.

Now, she was in the darkroom, the red light casting long shadows on the developing trays. She held a photograph up, her face illuminated by the subtle glow, a smile blossoming across her face.

He found himself rooted to the spot, watching as she gently, carefully, developed the picture. The image slowly emerged from the blank paper, a portrait of him. She had chosen the best one.

"Dad," she said, her voice barely a whisper, "it's magic." He could only nod.
