He held the letter aloft, as if offering it to the heavens. It was a tangible object, but it felt impossibly light, like a feather. He felt an undeniable lightness, like he'd suddenly lost a hundred pounds.

He laughed, a small, shaky sound that didn't feel like his own. He walked over to the window and stared out at the world, now seeming strangely vibrant, impossibly bright.
